Hey, I just got back from Mexico and I loooooved it! A nice getaway from the drama that just smacked me in the face like a truck! At least I'm in a decent mood now.

Saturday, I got there and was miserable, but I must say, the hotel was awesome. It's built right into a jungle along the beach and there were so many kinds of wildlife living around it. Capibaras, Howler monkeys, Toucans, Iguanas, Peacocks, Flamingos, the whole shebang. It had a lot of fountains and water, with cool Koi fish in them and everything! Most of the restaurants were open-air as was the lobby and bars and stuff. It was really hot there but was still a hell of a lot of fun.

Sunday was another lazy, miserable day (for me) because of recent happenings, but we planned all of the rest of the days on Sunday with these really nice guides that actually spoke good English for Mexicans. The pool at the hotel was HUUUUGE! And it was warm enough sometimes to be a bath! I swear! It cooled down sometimes but not always, but it's nice since I hate cooooold water.

Monday was great and I cleared up during Monday afternoon and felt better later on. We went into the Mayan jungle and did a bunch of zip lines. For those who have no clue what I'm talkin' about...they're long cords that you, in a harness, are attached to with pulleys and they push you off a platform connected to that cord and you hang from the harness and zoom across the cord from one platform to another on the zip lines. We did three in a row and, yeah, the stairs getting to them were tough but worth it. They went up several hundred feet and the last zip line was 700+ feet long!!! Then we did rappelling down one of those wooden towers, which I didn't do because I didn't listen to all of the instructions. xD Then, after that, we went snorkeling in the Sinotes caverns. They're underground freshwater rivers and are FREEZING cold but in all that heat of Mexico, it felt great!

During Monday night...oh man, we went to a cool place called Senor Frog's and I got totally wasted on Bahama Momma's. I love rum! It's one of the only alcohols that actually gets me drunk! xD Both the waiter we had, and the guy that suckered me into getting a Henna tattoo while I was drunk, were hitting on me the entire time. The guy that gave me the tattoo even questioned if I had a boyfriend and told me I was beautiful. ^^ Flattering but no thanks. xD He had Mufasa's face (from Lion King) tattooed on his leg. xD I also was asked to dance with the waiter and, no, I can't dance worth shit, but I did and made a fool outt'a myself since I couldn't see straight. ^^ It was a lot of fun and I slept reeeeaaalllllyyyy well that night. x3 (Yeah, I know, gee I wonder why, right?)

Tuesday was a bit of a let down. We took a boat out to Isla Muheres, aka the Island of Women, and chilled there. Basically all the things we could do at our hotel aka hang at the pool, go in the ocean, and shop around. But the end was fun, we did a dolphin show and I got to kiss one, hug one, and ride on its belly while holding onto its fins and it swam me back to the dock and the trainer. I...lost my bikini bottoms >.>;; it went so fast, but it's okay, I didn't make that mistake again and for the next ride, I tied my bikini bottoms to my life jacket. xD The next was grabbing onto a small boogy board and letting the dolphin push me back to the dock with the end of its snout pushing the arch of my foot. DOLPHINS CAN PUSH YOU REEEAAALLLYYY FAST!!!! They have good balance too! I'm amazed every time I get to swim with them! ^^

Wednesday was a down day so I didn't have to put more stress on my body, I was sore from walking around Isla Mujeres the other day anyway and I mostly stayed inside the hotel room, in the AC. I was able to catch a glimpse of the monkeys, though, while I was there since they come right by the balconies! They're same as what I saw on TV but didn't sound the same. x_x (I at first mistook the male's howling for a dog barking until he did it for longer periods of time) xD They sound really funny. I also looked down to see two wild chickens below. o.O; Didn't know they were supposed to be there but apparently so.

Thursday was cool, we went on an hour-long speed boat ride off the coast of Cancun until we just couldn't see the land anymore and out there were at least TWO HUNDRED WHALE SHARKS! For anyone who thinks whale sharks are your typical toothy sharks, you're mistaken, just for the records. I knew before coming there that whale sharks were harmless but to elaborate, they're about the size of a school bus, gray colored with white spots, and have big, gaping mouths with NO teeth. They skim the water's surface for plankton in large groups like we saw and they swam right up alongside the boat and everything. Man, they're big! We were able to snorkel in the ocean with them and they ignored us, probably didn't care, but we could get right down to six inches away from their faces! (Weren't allowed to touch them but you know, how would you feel if someone was touching you while you're eating? So I could understand that) Then we stayed on the shoreline of Isla Mujeres again and drank beer while drifting near coral reefs. It was beautiful.

Friday was the BEST day I had of the entire trip!! <3 Wanna know why?? Well, we started it off by taking ATVs and quadding down the streets of Mexico all the way to the Mayan jungle again, and all through it too! I drove my own ATV! <3 I want one now! I was one of the fastest people there! <3 Sooooo much fun! I had such a blast. My mom crashed. xD Anyway, we did more zip lines, only these were closer to the ground and much, much faster. More fun in my opinion and the tour guides were such a trip! <3 They made all kinds of jokes about the ladders being broken and pretending to be jaguars while jumping out of bushes at us. ^^ Lots of fun. We then took a dip in a different cavern of the Sinotes, freezing again but felt great, and there were little fishes in it, too. Then, I was attacked by ants when I went to change in the bathroom. ;_; They were ferocious little pests! I stood on the toilet to get changed and there was a snake hanging from the tree above the bathrooms. xD Pretty cool wildlife. Then, we quadded all the way back to where we started at the shop that rents them out and called it a day! Damn it was amazing!

Saturday we came back after a long time in the pool and visiting the animals again. By the way, there are tons of stray dogs all over the streets, and cats too, but more dogs than anything. I feel bad for them. Anyways, we came back and took another plane and all. The flights were only about three and half hours each time, not too bad, and as per usually...I survived, no crashes, yadda yadda. xD So, all in all, I didn't regret coming after all and am glad things seemed to have calmed down. I'm feelin' good and have some souvenirs to remember the trip as well as some beastly pictures!
